“Blood and water are most important to humans”: participants of the charitable project “Kraplya do Krapli” – in a new TV plot by CK1

03.06.2021

For several reasons, including COVID-19-related, the already insufficient amount of voluntary donors in Ukraine significantly decreased last year. As a consequence, the national blood reserves have declined. All citizens requiring emergency surgery, oncology patients, and patients suffering from burns have become at risk zone.

With the aim to save as many lives as possible and to solve the problem of the lack of donor blood the leading brand of artesian water “Pryrodne Dzherelo” and the pioneer of donor movement in Ukraine DonorUA have united their efforts.

Thus, in 2020 the “Kraplya do Krapli” collaboration was founded – a charitable initiative that not only promotes regular voluntary donation, but also has created an alternative mechanism for Ukrainians to participate in a noble act.

Despite the spring lockdown, the charitable initiative “Kraplya do Krapli” keeps actively developing: just during the first six months the project has involved over 3 thousand donors, has collected over 800 thousand UAH and has saved over 10 thousand lives. You can learn more about the achievements online at the project website.

Both new media and traditional ones are contributing to the initiative’s scaling. Thus, Zhytomyr TV channel CK1 in its recent plot called on viewers to make voluntary blood donation a part of their lifestyle. Among the representatives of DonorUA, who told about the initiative’s mission, the donors who came to the blood center for the first time and those who have been part of the big donor family for a long time, also shared their own experiences, motivations and thoughts. “Donate blood, purchase water – as blood, like water, is most important for the human being…’, – one of the TV show heroes, who has been donating blood for more than five years, invited to join the “Kraplya do Krapli” project.

All those who for some reason cannot become donors have an opportunity to contribute to the development of donation in some other way – just by buying a bottle of “Pryrodne Dzherelo” water with special marking “Kraplya do Krapli”. A part of the profit from the each sold bottle is allocated for the development of donation in Ukraine.

“Everyday drinking of pure artesian water and regular blood donations for those who are in need – simple habits that make us better and make our lives better, – says Elena Selutina, Communications Director of New Products Group, producer of “Pryrodne Dzherelo” drinking water. – Our project is not just about saving lives. First and foremost we are talking about freedom of will, an inborn right of a person – to empathize to others. Everyone can realize this right in many different ways, whether by buying “Pryrodne Dzherelo”  water or by visiting the blood center. Most importantly, we do it together. And every such step strengthens our belief in achieving a global goal”.

We remind you that every blood donor receives a bottle of artesian water “Pryrodne Dzherelo” within the “Kraplya do Krapli” project as a gratitude for the contribution to saving people’ s lives. To become a donor, it’s enough to register on the DonorUA official website. According to the rules, when the need for blood appears, each registered user receives a notification, as well as information about the person whose life can be saved by the donation.

Currently, the “Kraplya do Krapli” project is delivering artesian drinking water “Pryrodne Dzherelo” for free to donor centers in Kyiv, Dnipro, Odessa, Lviv, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr and Vinnytsa. Soon Mykolaiv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Cherkassy will also join this list.
